KoBold Metals are findings the materials of the future, using artificial intelligence, coupled with human intelligence, beginning with desktop exploration.
FVC was initially engaged by KoBold West Australia Pty Ltd to undertake a biological assessment of a proposed exploration areas and access road in the Little Sandy Desert region of Western Australia. One of the common challenges of biological assessments in such remote locations is access, routinely overcome by utilising helicopter transport – one of the fun perks of the job! The most significant finding of the assessment was identification of the potential presence of the Commonwealth-listed Vulnerable, Greater Bilby (Macrotis lagotis).
Following the biological assessment, FVC continued to support KoBold with the preparation of an Exploration Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to support a Program of Works (PoW) application for the proposed drilling campaign and access track. The EMP was developed to meet the regulatory requirements of the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) and to guide KoBold’s environmental responsibilities during all phases of their exploration activities. KoBold’s EMP and PoW were subsequently approved, enabling them to undertake their exploration program.
The two scopes of work are another example of FVC’s ability to service our clients’ project needs that span greenfields biological assessments and impact assessment and statutory approvals.
