FVC is excited to welcome Jay Reitze-Swensen to the team.
Jay has joined FVC as an Environmental Consultant within our Environmental Assessment and Management (EAM) Team. He has been appointed into a role that will also span across the biological team, contributing to flora and fauna assessments. As part of this, Jay will oversee the management of FVC’s in-house herbarium, the taxonomic resources and the identification and processing of our collected plant specimens.
In 2025, Jay completed his Bachelor of Science in Conservation and Wildlife Biology and Marine Biology at Murdoch University.
Through multiple internships, Jay has gained practical experience in ecological monitoring, biological surveys, data analysis, technical reporting, and the development of evidence‑based recommendations. His experienced to date has provided an excellent basis for collaborative fieldwork, with colleagues, clients and the community; working across consulting, government, conservation and community sectors.
Jay brings an analytical mindset and strong communication skills, complemented by commercial acumen from his own business experience. With an academic history featuring numerous awards, commendations and scholarships, and proven capability in his first few weeks with FVC, Jay’s natural ability for technical reporting is clear.
Alongside his developing environmental consultant career, Jay continues to work in his own business, Kustom Bass Drum Graphics, skillfully printing graphics onto drumheads for bands and artists. Jay’s personal interests include playing music, woodworking, surfing, camping, and exploring the incredible natural areas Western Australia has to offer.
Welcome to the FVC team, Jay!
