Welcome Luciana!

Aug 28, 2025

The Zoology Team is growing at FVC. We are very excited to welcome our newest addition – Luciana Liberoff!

Luciana kicked things off with FVC way back at the start of JulyIn her couple months with us, she has already made big contributions to projects, new opportunity pursuits and enhancements to internal systems, procedures and equipmentNew staff are always like a breath of fresh air, and Luciana sure is raising the bar on that!

Luciana is a vertebrate zoologist with a Masters of Biological Science in Conservation Biology from the University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Conservation Biology from Griffith University.  She has a decade of professional wildlife experience and has worked for the past three years in consulting as a zoologist.  Luciana’s professional experience includes conducting fauna surveys and ecological assessments across a range of Western Australian regions, including the Pilbara, Murchison, Little Sandy Desert, and the Mid-West.  She is proficient in GIS, desktop assessments, field surveys and monitoring, species identification, animal handling, radio tracking, data analysis, and technical reporting.  Luciana’s practical consulting experience has included conducting detailed (trapping) assessments and targeted surveys, including for monitoring programs, for a wide range of mammal, bird and reptile species in Western Australia.  She has considerable experience and capability working in remote locations, and in harsh conditions.  Luciana’s passion for wildlife, ecology and conservation, drives her dedication to undertaking ethical and thorough fauna surveys with high-quality outcomes.

No stranger to keeping active, if she’s not out in the bush checking out the wildlife, you will often find Luciana in the gym.  She’s up for anything that keeps her active, from skateboarding, yoga and handstands (it’s harder than it looks!), to Muay Thai and MMA.  But above all, nature is Luciana’s happy place, especially the ocean.  Her love of nature and adventure takes her to amazing destinations from hiking across the Himalayas to the Everest base camp, and reaching the top of Africa, summiting the Kilimanjaro.  And if all that wasn’t enough, she’s recently bought a motorcycle, which she intends to take on little off-road adventures.

Even if just her stories make us feel tired, we consider ourselves lucky to have someone as energetic and enthusiastic as Luciana join the FVC team.

Welcome, Luciana!
