Senior-Principal Environmental Consultant/Team Leader

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced environmental practitioner to lead our established Environmental Assessment and Management (EAM) team. 

The EAM team specialises in environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental approvals, environmental compliance and all aspects of environmental management, including conservation.

The role:

  • Lead and develop the established Environmental Assessment and Management (EAM) Team
  • Lead/manage and contribute to projects related to environmental assessments, environmental approvals and biodiversity protection and enhancement, via the preparation of relevant documentation and stakeholder consultation
  • Assist clients to meet environmental compliance requirements including preparing and implementing environmental management plans and monitoring programs
  • Aid in maintaining and strengthening client relationships
  • Collaborate with technical specialists in our Biological team to provide a holistic approach to environmental assessments
  • Contribute to and have direct and meaningful influence on the strategic direction of the broader business and company

About you

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Bachelor degree (minimum) in environmental science, environmental management, natural resource management or equivalent
  • demonstrated familiarity with relevant Commonwealth and WA State legislation and its application
  • 5-20+ years’ experience in environmental impact assessment and management
  • experience in contributing to EIA, environmental approvals and environmental compliance scopes
  • the ability to lead and manage teams and consulting projects
  • proven experience in managing client relationships
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • a proactive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional results in a team-focused environment
